On August 7, 2023, Accreditation Services Coordinator Janet Murzyn celebrated her 17th anniversary working for the JRCERT. Janet recently completed the Employee Spotlight to reflect on her time at the JRCERT and let us know some fun facts about her. Read her answers below!
Q: What is your favorite part of working at the JRCERT?
A; My favorite part of working at the JRCERT is that each day brings something new and challenging. I love building relationships with our site visitors and staff.
Q: What projects have you worked on at the JRCERT that you are most proud of?
A: I’ve been involved in many projects over the years and the project that I’m most proud of was scheduling just under 200 site visits in one calendar year.
Q: What hobbies do you have/how do you spend your free time?
A: A lot of my free time is spent with my family and grandchildren. We have been on many fun adventures that make me smile. I also enjoy bowling and socializing with friends.
Q: Where is your favorite destination that you’ve visited and why?
A: One of my favorite family vacations was being on an Alaskan Cruise. Seeing the glaciers and northern lights was breathtaking.
Q: What is your favorite musical artist/style of music?
A: I love all types of genres especially the ones that get me up dancing.
Q: If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
A: If I had the opportunity to learn something new, I’d like to learn how to sew and make my grandchildren’s Halloween costumes.
Q: What is your favorite sports team and what is your favorite memory of this team?
A: My favorite sports team is the Chicago White Sox. I’m fortunate that my brother-in-law has season tickets which allows me to attend several games. One of my favorite memories though was enjoying the game with our JRCERT staff, fun times!
Q: What is your favorite meal for dinner?
A: Pizza, pizza, pizza lol
Q: What job did you want to have when you were a child?
A: When I was a child, I wanted to be an astronaut.
Q: What is the craziest fashion trend you ever rocked?
A: The craziest fashion trend that I rocked was wearing slacks with stirrups and pumps while sporting a fresh perm.
