December 22, 2023 marks the 7th work anniversary of Accreditation Assistant Jason Mielcarek, M.A.M.Ed. Jason recently completed our Employee Spotlight to reflect on his time at the JRCERT and let us know some fun facts about him. Read Jason’s responses below!
Q: What is your favorite part of working at the JRCERT?
A: I learn something new everyday, even after seven years here. I thoroughly enjoy helping programs work through their questions and working with my coworkers to ensure that we offer the best possible service.
Q: What projects have you worked on at the JRCERT that you are most proud of?
A: Since I started with the JRCERT, I am most proud of the time I have spent on the Pulse, Organizational Report, Quality Improvement Plan, Standards Revisions, Workshops/Webinars, and Conferences.
Q: What hobbies do you have/how do you spend your free time?
A: I enjoy running, reading, playing video games, and traveling to new places to run half/full marathons. I also enjoy spending time with my wife Meg and our dachshund Deke.
Q: What is your favorite musical artist/style of music?
A: I listen to all forms of metal and classical music, especially those artists that blend the two genres together.
Q: What is your favorite sports team and what is your favorite memory of this team?
A: Chicago White Sox (Although I enjoy watching all baseball). There have been a lot of tough years for Chicago teams, but the 2005 and 2016 World Series runs were great times to experience in the city.
Q: What is your favorite meal for dinner?
A: Steak Frites, Brussel Sprouts, and French-Onion Soup.
Q: What job did you want to have when you were a child?
A: I had different eras where I wanted to be an astronaut, architect, builder, musician, baseball player, or train engineer.
