From January 1, 2022 to date, the Board has taken action on approximately 102 programs; following is a
breakdown:

The Directors also took action on 34 interim reports. The remaining accreditation actions were progress
reports and substantive changes.

Other comments:
To assure the health and safety of the Board and staff, the Board meeting was condensed into one day and
held using videoconferencing.
Karen Friedberg, M.S., R.N., OCN-Emeritus®, retired Professor of Nursing at Elgin Community College,
was installed at the conclusion of the April 2022 meeting as the public director. Ms. Friedberg replaced
Beverly Felder, M.P.A. whose term was fulfilled at the conclusion of the meeting. Director Mahsa
Dehghanpour, Ed.D., CMD was reappointed for an additional three-year term.
The JRCERT’s recognition of renewal petition from the United States Department of Education was
heard in February 2022; NACIQI’s recommendation is for renewal of accreditation for the maximum of
five years.
The new JRCERT Accreditation Management System is scheduled to go live June 6, 2022. The JRCERT
website was redesigned (wordpress-1182231-4152295.cloudwaysapps.com).
Beginning with the fall 2022 semester, waivers for distance education will no longer be granted.
Programs requesting distance education will be required to submit a substantive change for approval prior
to implementation.
