JRCERT Conflict of Interest

Policy Statements

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

80.101 requires its Directors, employees, site visitors, and members of the appeal panel to be conscious of real or perceived conflict of interest in the performance of their responsibilities.
80.102 requires its Directors and employees to refrain from participating in discussion or vote on accreditation actions, if a real or perceived conflict of interest arises as prescribed by the Bylaws, Article 14.
80.103 prohibits any Director or employee from serving as a consultant for compensation to any program subject to JRCERT accreditation.
80.104

prohibits an individual from serving as a site visitor for a program if:

  • the sponsor to be visited is in the state of the individual’s residence or employment, or
  • the individual has been an appointee, employee or recent graduate (within five (5) years) of the sponsor or program, or
  • the individual has been a consultant to or holds a financial interest in the sponsor or program, or
  • has relatives who are appointees or employees of the sponsor, or
  • the individual is unacceptable to officials of the sponsor or the program.

Procedures

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

80.102A requires the Directors and staff to annually sign a Conflict of Interest Agreement to reaffirm their commitment to the JRCERT.
80.102B reflects the non-participation in meeting minutes of any Director refraining from deliberation, discussion or vote on any accreditation action.
80.103A recognizes that consultation provided to programs in the course of Directors or employees fulfilling the responsibilities of their positions is excluded from this policy.
