The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

80.301regards accreditation as a public trust conducted in the interests of students and the public as purchasers, supporters and consumers of educational services.
80.302establishes and implements policies and procedures which are designed to serve the public interest.
80.303includes a public member on the Board of Directors to provide a broad perspective to the accreditation process.
80.304assures that policies are appropriately disseminated.

Procedures

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

80.302Aperforms functions to enhance the quality of radiologic sciences education and to serve as an indicator that accredited programs meet established accreditation standards.
80.302Bconducts accreditation activities that establish the validity and effectiveness of education without being inappropriately restrictive or discouraging innovation and experimentation.
80.302Cassists institutions, students, and others in identifying JRCERT-accredited programs for purposes of enrollment, transfer of credits, and eligibility for public and private funds through publication of a directory of JRCERT-accredited programs.
80.302Dprotects sponsors and programs against internal and external pressures that may compromise sponsor prerogatives or academic standards by providing relevant accreditation standards for substantial compliance.
80.303Aappoints a public member to the Board of Directors according to its Bylaws and established policies and procedures.
80.304Aprovides due process of accreditation decisions of Accreditation Withheld and Accreditation Withdrawn.
