The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

80.501reviews any written, signed allegation received against the JRCERT relating to any JRCERT Standard, Bylaw, Policy or other aspect of the accreditation process, not arising in the context of the accreditation review of a particular program. When warranted, the JRCERT resolves the complaint in a timely, fair and equitable manner.
80.502reviews any written, signed allegation received against the JRCERT relating to any JRCERT Standard, Bylaw, Policy or other aspect of the accreditation process, arising in the context of the accreditation review of a particular program. When warranted, the JRCERT resolves the complaint in a timely, fair and equitable manner.

Procedures

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

80.501Arequires the Chief Executive Officer to facilitate investigation and research to determine if the allegation relates to JRCERT accreditation standards, Bylaws, Policies or other aspects of the accreditation process:
 i.     if no, notifies the complainant accordingly within twenty (20) working days following receipt of the allegation;
 ii.    if yes, acknowledges receipt of the allegation to the complainant within twenty (20) working days of its receipt and provides appropriate information pertaining to the investigation to the complainant.
 iii.   if yes, notifies the individual(s) against whom any complaint is made of the substance of the allegations and requires a written response to the complaint be submitted to the JRCERT within thirty (30) working days.
80.501Btakes the following action if the investigation reveals that the allegation may have merit:
  • establishes a panel of three (3) former directors of the JRCERT, chosen by the Executive Committee, within ten (10) working days;
    • selected former Directors should have served on the JRCERT Board within the past five (5) years.

  • immediately provides all documents and materials relative to the allegation as well as all correspondence to and from the complainant to the panel.
    the panel identifies a Chair;
    the panel is empowered to recommend a course of action relating to the complaint;
    the panel Chair, using the Chief Executive Officer as a facilitator, interacts with the panelists and utilizes mail, electronic communication and/or conference calls, as necessary, to assure thorough, equitable deliberation;
    within twenty (20) working days of receipt of the material, the panel Chair provides the panel’s recommendation, in writing, to the Chair of the JRCERT;
    the JRCERT Board of Directors acts on the recommendation of the panel within twenty (20) working days of its receipt by mail, electronic communication and/or conference call;
    the JRCERT Chair communicates with the complainant, in writing, within thirty (30) working days of receipt of the recommendation, with respect to the action taken by the Board of Directors.
80.502Arequires the Chief Executive Officer to facilitate investigation and research to determine if the allegation relates to JRCERT accreditation standards, Bylaws, Policies or other aspects of the accreditation process:
 i.     if no, notifies the complainant accordingly within twenty (20) working days following receipt of the allegation;
 ii.    if yes, acknowledges receipt of the allegation to the complainant within twenty (20) working days of its receipt and provides appropriate information pertaining to the investigation to the complainant.
 iii.   if yes, notifies the individual(s) against whom any complaint is made of the substance of the allegations and requires a written response to the complaint be submitted to the JRCERT within thirty (30) working days.
80.502Btakes the following action if the investigation reveals that the allegation may have merit:
  • schedules a conference call with the Executive Committee within twenty (20) workings days of receipt of the response to the allegation.
  • immediately provides all documents and materials relative to the allegation as well as all correspondence to and from the complainant to the Executive Committee.
  • conducts a conference call with the Executive Committee where a course of action relating to the complaint is determined.
  • the JRCERT Chair communicates with the complainant, in writing, within thirty (30) working days of receipt of the recommendation, with respect to the action taken by the Board of Directors.
