Creating a Positive Healthcare Mindset: There’s no question about it: the healthcare sector is more dynamic than ever, and it continues to evolve. As expected, there’s some anxiety associated with this shift. Healthcare professionals desire alignment between their policies and the departments they serve, but collaboration becomes difficult when perceptions don’t match. And it doesn’t help that the healthcare industry naturally focuses on what’s trying to be avoided (fines, fraud, mistakes, etc). Yet, this focus on avoidance and what we don’t want can damage team dynamics. It’s an unfortunate reality that healthcare professionals find themselves stuck in a never-ending struggle between two groups: those who want to get things done fast, and those who see the value in taking time while keeping a close eye on regulation. Bringing these two groups together feels just about impossible at times. “Creating a Positive Healthcare Mindset” offers the tools you need to create a positive mindset and a collaborative work environment, giving you the ability to both stand out as a respected healthcare professional and form better relationships with surrounding departments.

Developing Performance Goals and Standards: “Developing Performance Goals and Standards” equips team leaders with the tools they need to set effective performance goals for their team. For a company to accomplish its broader vision and strategy, employees must be executing the individual projects to achieve the broader goals. Managers are responsible for developing good performance goals for their team to move the company forward. Good performance goals are specific, measurable, attainable, results-oriented, and time-framed (S.M.A.R.T.). You’ll learn about the value of planning and setting goals. You’ll then practice setting S.M.A.R.T. goals and having effective conversations with your team members. This will prepare you to set and hold your team accountable to the right goals on the job.
