Policy Statements

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

12.301allows programs to link to the JRCERT website.
12.302requires programs that link to the JRCERT website not capture JRCERT pages within frames, present JRCERT content as its own, or otherwise misrepresent JRCERT content or misinform users about the origin or ownership of the JRCERT content.
12.303provides links to commercial, federal, state, and local governments that provide information and services that benefit its constituents.
12.304considers link requests to non-governmental websites that contain information and/or services that further the purpose of the JRCERT, including sites of JRCERT-contracted vendors, relevant medical, educational, and accreditation-related associations.
12.305requires that the external website not be used as a forum for public communication and debate.
12.306requires programs to e-mail link requests to the Chief Executive Officer of the JRCERT for approval, consistent with Procedure 12.306B. Approved sites may be required to enter into a written linking agreement with the JRCERT.
12.307requires external websites linked from the JRCERT website follow conditions of linking maintenance as identified in Procedure 12.307A.
12.308reserves the right to remove links if the JRCERT determines that a website contains misleading or unsubstantiated claims, conflicts with the purpose of the JRCERT, or does not meet one (1) or more of the criteria set forth in Procedure 12.308A.
12.309recognizes the purpose of the JRCERT’s social media accounts is to inform social media users of JRCERT initiatives and facilitate ongoing dialogue on accreditation issues.
12.310encourages comments on the JRCERT social media accounts. All comments are reviewed for appropriateness and removed if not consistent with Procedure 12.310A. The JRCERT will not edit comments to remove objectionable content.

Procedures

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

12.302Arequires programs that utilize JRCERT protected intellectual property be used in accordance with state and federal laws and reflect the proper ownership of the intellectual property as that of the JRCERT.
12.306Arequires that the external website is consistent with the purpose of the JRCERT.
12.306Brequires that the external website does not exhibit hate, bias, discrimination, pornography, libelous or otherwise defamatory content, and cannot advocate or promote the use of alcohol or tobacco.
12.307A  requires that external website linked from the JRCERT meet the following condition in order to maintain a link:
i.     The linked site must provide the user with access to an e-mail address and/or telephone number for the customer service contact so that users may contact the site if there are problems with format or accuracy.
ii.    Linked sites must not excessively burden the JRCERT customer support system. If the site excessively burdens the JRCERT support system, the JRCERT has discretion to remove the link.
iii.   When the user clicks on the external website link, the individual must have easy access back to the JRCERT website.
iv.   Linked sites must have privacy and security policies accessible from their home page, informing the user of what information is collected by the linked site, how it is collected, and how it is used.
v.    Linked sites must notify the JRCERT if the site to which the JRCERT links becomes inaccurate or inactive.
12.308A reviews regularly and may remove links for the following reasons:
i.     The link no longer points to the original information or resource to which it was intended to point.
ii.    The website pointed to by the link contains inaccurate or misleading information or has changed such that it is no longer in compliance with accepted criteria.
iii.   The website pointed to by the link violates the conditions for link maintenance.
iv.   Access to the information contained on the linked website has become difficult due to non-standard formatting, lengthy download times, or intrusive advertising.
v.    The link is permanently unreachable or remains unavailable for a lengthy period.
vi.   The external website fails to comply with the written linking agreement, if any.
12.310Areviews comments on the JRCERT social media accounts.  Such comments will be removed if they:
i.     exhibit hate, bias, discrimination, pornography, libelous or otherwise defamatory content, or promote the use of alcohol or tobacco.
ii.    are clearly off-topic or spam.
iii.   make unsupported accusations.
iv.   fail to respect copyright, privacy, fair use, financial disclosure, and other applicable laws.
12.310Brequires that if a JRCERT employee or Director comments on any aspect of the JRCERT business, the individual must clearly identify themselves as an employee or Director and include a disclaimer.  Any views expressed by a JRCERT employee or Director may not necessarily reflect the views of the JRCERT.
12.310Crequests that any concerns regarding content posted by the Administrator of the JRCERT’s social media accounts, be e-mailed to the Chief Executive Officer of the JRCERT.
