Policy Statements

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

10.701publishes accreditation categories.
10.702provides the accreditation status and award of all programs.
10.703requires each program to disclose its accreditation status and award.
10.704requires a program awarded probationary accreditation to notify currently enrolled and accepted students and the public of such status.

Procedures

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT):

10.701Arecognizes the following accreditation categories: accredited, probationary accreditation, and administrative probationary accreditation.
10.701Bwithin one (1) business day of receipt of notification to the program, notifies the public, via publication on its Web site, of:
 i.     a final decision to place a program on probation.
 ii.    a final decision to withhold or withdraw the accreditation of a program.
 iii.   a final decision to accept voluntary withdrawal of the accreditation of a program.
10.702Anotifies the sponsor, program, and public of any accreditation action within thirty (30) days of the action.
10.702Bnotifies the United States Department of Education and the appropriate state licensing and accrediting agencies, in writing, and notifies the public, via the Web site, of any accreditation actions, within thirty (30) days of the action.
10.702Cnotifies the United States Department of Education and the appropriate state licensing and accrediting agencies, and, upon request, the public within thirty (30) days of receiving notification from the program that it is voluntarily withdrawing from accreditation.
10.702Dnotifies the United States Department of Education and the appropriate state licensing and accrediting agencies, at the same time the JRCERT notifies the program, of Probation, Accreditation Withheld, or Withdrawal of Accreditation, within thirty (30) days of the action.
10.702Eprovides the United States Department of Education, the appropriate state licensing agencies, and the public, the official comments, if any, of the affected program whose accreditation has been withheld or withdrawn within sixty (60) days of the action.
10.702Fprovides notice of accreditation status to the public, via the JRCERT Web site.  Notice of accreditation status shall be displayed a minimum of twenty-four (24) months from the effective date of the action or following subsequent Board action.  Such notice shall include, but not be limited to, the last accreditation status prior to the effective date of the action.
10.702Gprovides notice to the public via the JRCERT Web site in the event that a program has voluntarily withdrawn accreditation. At a minimum, the notice will remain on the JRCERT Web site until students enrolled at the time of the voluntary withdrawal have graduated.
10.703Arequires any program disclosing its accreditation status to include the name, mailing address, e-mail address, and telephone number of the accrediting agency.
10.704Arequires programs to notify in writing currently enrolled students of the award of probationary accreditation within thirty (30) days of the receipt of such notification.
10.704Brequires programs to notify in writing accepted students of the award of probationary accreditation within thirty (30) days of the receipt of such notification or at the time of acceptance into the program.
10.704Crequires the program to submit a representative sample of such notification and the list of recipients to the JRCERT within thirty (30) days of the distribution.
10.704Drequires the program to disclose the award of probationary accreditation to the public by posting notice on their website within thirty (30) days of the receipt of such notification.
